Hyundai Motor Company and Kia have achieved outstanding success at the 2025 Red Dot Award: Product Design, showcasing their innovative design philosophy and future-oriented vision.

On Monday, the two automakers announced that they secured a total of seven accolades at this year’s Red Dot Award, including one Best of the Best award and six Winner awards. The Red Dot Award is organized by Germany’s Nordrhein Westfalen Design Center and is widely recognized as one of the world’s top three design awards.

Kia’s EV3 clinched the prestigious Best of the Best award, reserved for products with exceptional design. The EV3 garnered attention for its bold styling that emphasizes futuristic electric vehicle (EV) characteristics, coupled with a strong presence and dynamic roofline rooted in Kia’s Opposite United design philosophy. Following the EV6 and EV9, the EV3’s top honor further solidifies the design prowess of Kia’s dedicated EV lineup.

Hyundai secured Winner awards for six products: the iONIQ 9, the all-new Palisade, a smart taxi sign, a home EV charger, the E-pit ultra-fast charger, and a pixel emergency hammer and cutter.

The iONIQ 9 impressed judges with its sleek exterior inspired by boat design and cozy interior, earning high marks for its aerodynamic profile. The all-new Palisade received acclaim for its robust exterior and luxurious interior reminiscent of high-end living spaces.

The smart taxi sign, implemented on the Sonata taxi, enhances urban aesthetics while improving passenger safety. The home EV charger was developed with a focus on both convenience and design, offering versatile installation options. The E-pit ultra-fast charger stood out for its space-efficient design and user-centric approach, suitable for installation in compact areas.

The pixel emergency hammer and cutter features a simple, intuitive design for easy use in emergencies, capable of breaking the window or cutting seatbelts.

A spokesperson for Hyundai and Kia stated that these awards represent the culmination of the company’s design philosophy and vision for the future. Both automakers promised that they would continue to leverage their outstanding design capabilities to deliver unique mobility experiences.
