Chinese automaker BYD is making its debut at the Seoul Mobility Show, ramping up efforts to penetrate the South Korean market. BYD Korea will showcase eight key models representing its brand, strategically positioned adjacent to Hyundai Motor Company’s booth, the country’s largest automaker. The company aims to unveil its cutting-edge technologies at this high-profile event.

BYD Korea’s participation in the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show begins on Thursday and runs through April 13 at KINTEX Hall 1 in Ilsan, marking BYD’s first appearance at a Korean mobility show. The BYD Korea booth, one of the largest at the event, ranks behind only Hyundai, Kia, and Mercedes-Benz in size. Located to the right of Hyundai’s display, BYD’s booth offers visitors the opportunity to experience their vehicles firsthand through outdoor test drives.

In addition to BYD models, the company will feature eight flagship vehicles from its premium brands, including Yangwang, Denza, and Formula Bao. Each brand has been allocated a dedicated space within the expansive exhibition area.

The BYD lineup includes the Atto 3, a compact electric SUV currently available for pre-order, the Seal, a performance-oriented mid-size electric sedan slated for launch this year, and the Sea Lion 7, a mid-size electric SUV.

The booth also highlights Yangwang’s flagship large SUV, the U8, alongside the electric super sports car, the U9. Denza’s offerings include the luxury seven-seat plug-in hybrid multi-purpose vehicle D9 and the high-performance sports sedan Z9GT. The BAO5, a plug-in hybrid SUV from Formula Bao, is making its Korean debut.

In the BYD zone, visitors can experience voice control technology through Atto 3’s infotainment system and karaoke feature. The Formula Bao area simulates rugged mountain terrain to demonstrate the robust off-road capabilities of its Dual Mode Off-road super hybrid system.

Meanwhile, the Yangwang section demonstrates the dynamic U9, which moves with dance-like precision, illustrating the boundless potential of automotive technology. BYD’s core innovations, including the Blade Battery and e-Platform 3.0, are displayed in the technology innovation zone.

BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division General Manager Liu Xueliang emphasized the company’s commitment to developing advanced technologies prioritizing passenger safety, driving performance, and environmental sustainability. “Our goal is to share these technologies broadly, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable e-mobility experience for all,” Liu stated.

Jo In Cheol, head of BYD Korea’s passenger vehicle division, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s participation in the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. “This marks a significant milestone for BYD as we join the South Korean automotive industry at this prestigious event,” Jo remarked. He underscored that the platform will enable BYD to contribute to Korea’s eco-friendly vehicle market and sustainable future growth.
