Hyundai unveiled the completely redesigned flagship large SUV, the All-New Palisade, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, marking its first public reveal in North America after six years.

The second-generation, fully revamped Palisade model boasts a grand new design, expanded interior space, and the introduction of Hyundai’s first next-generation hybrid system, significantly enhancing its overall appeal.

The new Palisade boldly reinterprets its identity with vertical daytime running lights, giving it a distinctive and commanding presence.

The vehicle is 5,060 mm (198.0 inches) long, 65 mm (2.6 inches) longer than the previous generation, with a wheelbase of 2,970 mm (116.9 inches), extended by 70 mm (2.8 inches). The new model offers a more spacious interior. It features a horizontal layout inspired by furniture design, creating a cozy and luxurious atmosphere.

The powertrain lineup includes a 3.5-liter gasoline engine and a 2.5-liter turbo hybrid. Specialized technologies like Stay Mode and Interior V2L, typically seen in electric vehicles, are tailored for outdoor activities.

At this auto show, Hyundai unveiled the Palisade XRT Pro, the world’s first off-road-focused version. The XRT Pro features electronic AWD, a rear electronic limited-slip differential (E-LSD), and 18-inch all-terrain tires, enhancing its off-road driving capabilities.

It stands out with a 212 mm (8.3 inches) ground clearance, 25 mm (1 inch) higher than the standard model, making it more suitable for rugged terrain. The front and rear exposed towing hooks further strengthen its towing capabilities.

XRT Pro-exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, unique emblems, and robust front grille and cladding design distinguish the exterior.

Lee Sang Yup, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Center, explained that the Palisade XRT Pro features a distinctive design and also incorporates off-road-specific performance and specifications, adding a unique off-road feel to the spaciousness, comfort, and luxury of the existing Palisade.

Advanced Safety and Convenience Features

The new Palisade has various intelligent safety features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), Safe Exit Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

It also includes convenient features like wireless software updates (OTA), rear monitor, digital center mirror camera cleaning, Hyundai Digital Key 2, Built-in Cam 2 Plus, In-Car Payment, and BOSE premium sound (14 speakers).

Although the price has not yet been revealed, it is expected to be slightly higher than the Korean market due to current market conditions. The XRT Pro, with its specialized features, is also anticipated to be priced similarly to the top-tier trim.
