Zeekr, the electric vehicle (EV) brand under China’s Geely Automobile Group, has officially launched its new 7GT model in the Chinese market. The 7GT is a shooting brake-style GT variant derived from the electric sedan 007 and plans to deliver the first units within a week.

First unveiled in January, the 7GT is Zeekr’s second shooting brake EV, following the flagship 001 model. Based on the existing 007 sedan, it has been redesigned into a sporty hatchback and will be marketed globally as the 7GT. Andy An, CEO of Zeekr and president of Geely Automobile, has kept his promise to launch the 007 GT in the second quarter of this year, as he previously stated.

Zeekr touts the 7GT as a vehicle that combines supercar-level performance with wagon practicality and shooting brake styling. The company says it embodies its Hidden Energy minimalist design philosophy, striking a balance between powerful performance, practicality, and luxury.

Built on Geely Automobile’s advanced 800V SEA platform, the 7GT offers impressive specs. The base model features a 75 kWh LFP battery pack, providing a range of 404 miles (650 km) under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). Fast charging capabilities allow it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes, with a long-range variant equipped with a 100 kWh NMC battery offering up to 513 miles (825 km) of driving range. The 7GT’s dual silicon carbide electric motors deliver blistering performance, with a 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of just 2.95 seconds.

The 7GT measures 191.5 inches (4,864 mm) in length, 74.8 inches (1,900 mm) in width, and 57.5 inches (1,460 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 115.2 inches (2,925 mm). Its versatile cargo space offers 22.8 cubic feet (645 liters) of trunk capacity, expandable to 61.4 cubic feet (1,737 liters) with the rear seats folded. Inside, the vehicle is upholstered in premium Nappa full-grain leather, with all seats featuring heating, ventilation, and spa-level massage functions. The infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm 8295-based chipset.

Zeekr has equipped the 7GT with cutting-edge technology for advanced driver assistance, incorporating a comprehensive sensor suite, including dual NVIDIA Orin-X SoCs, LiDAR, high-definition cameras, and millimeter-wave radar. This hardware supports sophisticated ADAS features, further enhanced by the new G-Pilot H7 autonomous driving system.

In China, pricing for the 7GT starts at 202,900 CNY (approximately 27,708 USD), with customer deliveries set to begin just five days after the launch.
