On Tuesday, Kia unveiled its flagship electric SUV, the EV9 Nightfall Edition, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, marking its global debut.
The EV9 Nightfall Edition represents Kia’s first application of the Nightfall Package to its electrified lineup, a feature previously seen on models like the Seltos, Sportage, and Telluride. This special edition enhances the SUV’s premium feel and electric identity.

The exterior boasts exclusive black accents on the front grille, skid plate, and lower door sections, complemented by a new Roadrider Brown color option for a distinctive look. The black interior with refined stitching details adds a touch of sophistication and upscale ambiance.

Performance-wise, the dual-motor setup now features a Boost function, increasing maximum torque from 61.3 kgf·m to 71.3 kgf·m. This enhancement allows the EV9 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds.

The EV9 Nightfall Edition adopts the North American Charging Standard, granting access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. An optional adapter also enables the Combined Charging System network, significantly improving charging convenience.

Kia plans to roll out the EV9 Nightfall Edition in the U.S. market starting in Q2 and gradually expand to other regions. By showcasing a powerful and practical electric SUV, Kia is confident that this new model will bolster its position in the market.
