Chinese automaker GAC’s electric vehicle brand, Hyptec, is generating buzz with its newly unveiled Hyptec HL, a full-size SUV that blends long-range electric driving with advanced driver assistance features. With a commanding length of 5,126 mm (201.8 in.), thanks to its cutting-edge autonomous parking technology, it aims to remove the burden typically associated with operating such large vehicles.

Dual Powertrains Deliver Long-Range and High-Efficiency
The Hyptec HL will be offered in both EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) and full-electric variants. The EREV model features a 60 kWh battery, delivering an electric-only range of 350 km (217 miles) and an impressive combined driving range of over 1,200 km (746 miles), thanks to a 53-liter fuel tank. Fuel economy stands at 14.9 km/L (35 mpg) under WLTC standards—remarkably efficient for a vehicle of this size.
The EV version extends the range further, offering up to 750 km (466 miles) on a single charge. Equipped with an 800V fast-charging system, it can regain 265 km (165 miles) of range in just five minutes, putting it on par with Hyundai’s E-GMP-based electric vehicles in both performance and charging speed.
Value-Oriented Pricing with Premium Features
Pricing begins at 279,800 CNY (approximately 38,000 USD). All HL trims come equipped with Hyptec’s advanced driver assistance suite, which is standardized across the lineup and includes autonomous driving capabilities and memory-based remote parking systems.

Breakthrough Autonomous Parking Technology
One of the HL’s most distinctive features is its ultra-long-range memory parking system. The vehicle can be summoned from up to 3 km (1.9 miles) away and automatically park itself after the driver exits, addressing one of the most significant pain points for large SUV owners in dense urban settings.
These features are powered by high-performance lidar sensors and Orin-X chipsets, enhancing reliability in low-light conditions. The vehicle also includes a military-grade night vision system—marketed as Dark Night Eye—which aids parking and autonomous driving in dark environments.
Luxury-Focused Cabin Experience
Inside, the Hyptec HL emphasizes comfort and innovation. Second-row zero-gravity seats with 18-point massage functionality, a 17.3-inch ultra-wide display, and an AI-based user interface contribute to a refined in-cabin experience. These features align the HL more closely with luxury SUVs than utilitarian family haulers.
